To speed up the process of creating Search Indexes in Salesforce, you can now use Duplicate Check Local to create your Search Indexes. In this how-to, we will show you how to do that.
Step 1 Enable the Search Index for your object
If you did not enable the Search Index for your object yet, please do so by following these instructions. At that same page, you can find instructions about storing the index at several locations and additional configuration options.
Step 2 Start a Search Index creation job from within Salesforce
In Salesforce, navigate to the DC Setup.
In the Object Setup, choose the Object you want to create the index for.
Navigate to the "Search Index" tab.
Click "Create Index (DC Local)".
Your Search Index creation job is now queued in DC Local.
Step 3 Start the job in DC Local
Start the DC Local application.
Log in using your Salesforce Credentials.
Find the "Search Index" job and click start.
DC Local will not create the Search Index for your Object and will send it back to Salesforce. You can monitor progress in both DC Local and in SFDC at the Search Index tab.
